One of the things I have missed the most being on the road, believe it or not, has been watching football on the weekends. Not that I really did it that much while we lived in Falls Church, but there is something very satisfying about plopping yourself down in front of the TV on a Saturday afternoon to watch some college ball.
This weekend we availed ourselves of my brother’s 92″ front projection high definition television and watched game after game. Va. Tech beating UVA today was very sweet. Having gone to Tech (my brother and I), we were completely psyched to see the Hokies soundly defeat the Cavaliers. The best game we have seen so far was the LSU/Arkansas game. 3 overtimes! Colin had TiVo’d the game so we were able to fast forward through commercials, which helped speed things up. Unfortunately, he didn’t record long enough (who expects 3 overtimes?!) so we missed the last 4 plays of the game. But we heard they were great!
Tomorrow (Sunday) we leave here and head to Mississippi. It has been great to be with family and I’m sure Elise will go into complete kid withdrawal as soon as we leave here. But we’ve just got to get out of Florida!!

Will you be able to watch the game on Saturday between Boston College and Tech? We will be in NYC with C&T so hope that Chris will record it. Great Thanksgiving here! Love, Mom

I hear you. Love crashing on the couch with a good game. Watch the 1st qaurter, fall asleep, maybe open an eye at halftime, back to sleep, and then watch the 4th quarter. Those were the days before kids! Can’t remember the last time I did that. Someday…… “The Cough” has set in here (everyone around seems to have it), but I am trying hard to not let it take too much of a hold on everyone.

We missed you at 1128 Rainbow this Thanksgiving – but sounds like you had a great time with Colin & Jacquie! Have been enjoying your postings. On Saturday we took Guinness (Jayme & Chris’s 9 month old Golden) and his brother Chip to the beach for the first time. They had an awesome time running on the beach and swimming in the surf. I took a bunch of pictures but wasn’t thrilled with the shutter speed and zoom. I noticed that your pics are with a Nikon D40 – how do you like it? Brad has a Nikon D100 which is way too big and complicated for me – at Maggie’s christening I turned everyone into a smurf because I goofed up the white balance. I’m looking for something fairly simple but that I can zoom in and take some good action shots. With all your photography – I thought I’d tap into your technical expertise!
